Built from a simple problem
You want to buy something on a classifieds site – and you're supposed to cross the whole city, at a time that never fits. That's where most handovers fail: not because of the item, but because of the timing.
We started out reselling used goods – and kept failing at the handover ourselves. So we stopped selling and solved the handover instead.
gegenstand.at turns that into a simple booking. You pick a box, drop something in or have it collected. The other person opens the box with a code or QR code – you never have to meet.
That's how keys, private sales, documents and borrowed items get handed over. And when something needs to sit safely for a while – your luggage, say – you just keep it in the compartment, at many locations, around the clock.
