How does luggage storage in a smart locker work?

Choose a location and box size online, book it. You receive a code and QR by email. Use them to open the box, drop your luggage in, and close the door. To pick up, you open the box again with the designated code. In the booking area, you can see the status and extend if needed.

How much does luggage storage cost?

One-time booking for the first 24 hours: XS €2.99, S €3.99, M €4.99, L €5.99. Each additional usage day costs €0.99, regardless of box size. The price is shown before you complete the booking.

Which box size do I need for my luggage?

That depends on your luggage. XS fits very small items, documents or flat things. S fits laptop bags or smaller bags. M often fits backpacks or smaller sports bags. L is more suitable for larger bags or small carry-on luggage. Check the dimensions during booking. The door must close without pressure.

Is my luggage safe in the box?

The box is opened with individual access details, such as a code, QR code or link. Without these details, the box cannot be opened in the regular way. Many partner locations have additional security measures, such as access control or video surveillance. Important: don't store particularly valuable or hard-to-replace items. Only share the code with the right person.

How long can I store my luggage?

The first booking is valid for 24 hours. If you need longer, you can extend in the booking area, where available at the location. An extension costs €0.99 per usage day. One usage day means 24 hours.

What are the cancellation rules?

You can cancel as long as the booking has not yet been used. We refund the amount paid minus already incurred reservation, partner, payment-processing and technical-handling costs. These costs are €1.99 per booking. Once the box has been opened or the luggage has been dropped off or picked up, automatic cancellation is no longer possible. What happens if the box is defective or occupied on site?

If the box cannot be used on site, please contact support immediately or use the partner hotline shown at the location. We will review the case and, where possible, look for a suitable solution. If use was not possible due to a technical issue that you did not cause, we refund the booking amount according to the Terms and Conditions.

What happens if I don't pick up my luggage in time?

If your luggage stays in the box longer, additional usage days may apply. Where technically available, you receive reminders or status updates. If an extension is available, you can book it in the booking area — €0.99 per usage day. You remain responsible for picking up your luggage in time or extending the booking.

Can I forward the pick-up code to someone else?

Yes. You can send the link or QR code to another person. That person can then pick up your luggage with the code. Make sure you only share the link or code with the right person.

Can I use the box for other purposes too?

Yes. You can also use gegenstand.at for [key handovers](/key-handover), [willhaben sales](/classifieds-ebay-handover) and [borrowed-item handovers](/borrowed-items-handover). Depending on the booking type, you can drop something off, pick something up or book a use with return. You choose size, location and price directly during booking.
